Personal Biography

Gibbons, the youngest of three
children, was born in Salisbury, the market town of Wiltshire, to devoted parents Pamela (Pam) and William George Gibbons
(Bill), who was the "Man from the Pru" after demobilization in 1956 from the British Army. His two brother's still
live and work in England of which Nigel is his closest and dearest. He (Gibbons) was educated at Swan School (Salisbury private
school). At the age of ten, he relocated with his family to Newbury in England where his Father was assigned to office duties
following health problems with arthritis, primarily affecting his lower back. At Park House School comprehensive and later
St. Bartholomew's Grammar, he was pulled towards photography and art with the support of his Father. On his identity today
he has said, "I feel very British more than ever before, even though I have lived in the States for so long. I don't
think you can take England out of the boy," and attributes the "love of life " to his passion for the English
countryside and idyllic childhood enjoyed with his beloved parents.
